This website is a portfolio of my work as a Picture Editor for News UK, The Observer and Independent on Sunday over the past 25 years. Every shoot on this website was commissioned and produced by me. They have been chosen to showcase what it takes to produce a good photoshoot: from initial creative concepts; art direction; finding the right photographer for the job; sourcing locations, props, stylists, and studios; negotiating fees; and finally editing the work into a magazine feature.

After leaving University of London with a Masters in History of Art from Goldsmiths College, I worked briefly in Advertising as a copywriter on placements at TBWA and Saatchi & Saatchi.

In 1999 I began my career in newspapers by joining The Independent on Sunday as Deputy Picture Editor. From there, in 2002 I became Picture Editor for Observer Music Monthly where I remained throughout the life of OMM until 2010. I also worked variously on Observer Sport Monthly, Observer Food Monthly and The Observer Magazine. Over the last decade and a half I've worked on both news and magazines.

Throughout my career I've worked with photographers from all over the world. I've nurtured young photographers early in their careers, and I've employed some of the industry's biggest names.

Since 2012 I have worked as a freelancer for The Observer, The Independent and  Independent on Sunday, The Evening Standard and as Acting Picture Editor for Newsweek Europe.  Since January 2016 I have been Director of Photography for Bridge Studio (The advertorial arm of News UK)  producing commercial content as stills photography Video, Stop Motion and CGI, for The Times and The Sunday Times.
